Royalties, Payments, and Earnings

9. Will there be any interruption in royalty payments?

‍No. Royalties for use of your works going forward will flow from Believe Music to your BeatStars Wallet. Behind the scenes, royalties for previous use of your works will continue to flow from Sony to your BeatStars Wallet until the transition to Believe Music is complete.

10. Who will collect my publishing royalties?

‍BeatStars Publishing will collect royalties for you. Royalties for use of your works going forward will flow from Believe Music to your BeatStars Wallet. Behind the scenes, royalties for previous use of your works will continue to flow from Sony to your BeatStars Wallet until the transition to Believe Music is complete.

11. Will BeatStars still pay me directly?

‍Yes, you will continue to be paid via your BeatStars Wallet.

12. Will payment timing change?

‍Collection periods ending with payouts will now be quarterly instead of semi-annually. Early cashouts are still available.

13. Are there any tax form updates required?

‍No new tax forms are needed as a result of this change.

Catalog, Registrations, and Workflow

14. Do I still submit my songs to the BeatStars Studio Publishing Portal?

‍Yes

15. Will my existing registrations need to be re-registered?

16. How long will it take for new songs to be registered?

‍Song registrations will typically be delivered to global societies within six weeks from the date your song is approved as Published in BeatStars Studio.

17. Will registrations happen worldwide?

‍Yes

18. Will my works still be registered with my PRO?

‍Yes

19. Will I get access to a new dashboard?

20. What happens to works that were submitted but not yet approved and published before the transition?

‍Songs submitted to BeatStars after March 18, 2026 will be sent to Believe Music instead of Sony.

‍No. Royalties for use of your works going forward will flow from Believe Music to your BeatStars Wallet. Behind the scenes, royalties for previous use of your works will continue to flow from Sony to your BeatStars Wallet until the transition to Believe Music is complete.
